Frequently asked questions

Building or renovating a home comes with a lot of questions. Here are a few of the most common ones we hear.

Getting pre-qualified is the best first step. A few minutes on the phone with a lender tells you how much you're likely able to borrow, and you'll receive a pre-approval letter you can submit with any offer to show you're a qualified buyer.

You don't need a construction loan when you contract with Cavada Custom Homes to build in one of our communities. There's one closing, when your new home is ready for you to move in.

Cavada Custom Homes provides a wide range of floor plans to choose from, with many options to personalize them to your style. We have experience building from these plans and know they're accurate, so we generally don't build from outside plans where reliability can't be assured.

At closing you'll sign the loan documentation and pay a variety of fees. These can include appraisal, title search, attorney fees, home inspection, loan origination, property taxes, homeowner's association fees, and transfer taxes. Some are rolled into the loan, while others are paid at closing.
